DACE – Vietnam’s Leading Organic Spice

Introduction of DACE

Dace is one of the pioneering enterprises, holding a leading position in the field of organic spice production in Vietnam. Dace (or Agricultural Development and Environmental Consulting Company Limited) was established on September 9, 2013 by two co-founders who are graduates of the University of Agriculture – Vietnam.

The name Dace is inspired by the name of a goldfish, although small but extremely strong and intelligent. They have the ability to swim upstream and freely swim in the vast space of the ocean. Therefore, the company wants to build a similar image, although small in scale but with good skills, good attitude, dynamism and kindness.

  • Dace’s mission: Bringing the essence of Vietnamese spices to the world
  • Dace’s vision: Become a model for creating and trading an ecosystem of organic products and services from Vietnamese spices

At DACE, we mainly focus on developing selected organic spice product lines such as ginger, chili, turmeric, garlic and lemongrass. Dace products are not only popular in Vietnam but are also exported to many European countries, America, Korea, Japan, Australia and Russia.

What makes DACE different?

1. Natural material area

The DACE raw material area is a high mountain area in Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province, the northernmost part of Vietnam. This area has a large area of more than 500 hectares. Here, Dace cooperated with local farmers and with the support of the local government, they invested in building an organic spice agricultural product value chain.

Initially, this raw material area was researched and tested by Dace to grow ginger. Ginger cultivation has proven to be very successful. Ginger not only grows well, but its quality is also very different from regular ginger: soft ginger fibers, dry, firm skin, yellow flesh, strong aroma and high essential oil content.

It can be said that Ha Quang district in Cao Bang province is an area with favorable climate and soil conditions. This is a favorable condition for Dace to thrive in other plant varieties such as turmeric, chili, lemongrass and garlic.

2. International standard production process

Dace’s entire production process is strictly controlled, fully complying with the standards for organic production of Europe, the United States and Japan. Immediately after harvesting, farmers will package the product, then transport it to the DACE factory in Hanoi.

The Dace factory is fully equipped with modern equipment such as freezing (only for chili at this time), slicers, dryers, grinders… All of which limit the impact on the product much. as possible while still maintaining its outstanding quality. In particular, Dace also operates a modern tracking and traceability system. Thereby, it is easy to follow all products in the chain, ensuring output quality.

3. Create value for the community and society

Environmentally friendly: Farmer households in the Dace raw material area all use natural manure composting methods, say no to chemical fertilizers, avoiding negative impacts on the air, soil and ecosystem. object.

Sustainable production and consumption: Dace Farm promotes sustainable agricultural production by combining traditional methods and advanced technology. Dace uses organic methods, along with research in biotechnology and microbial applications to optimize productivity and protect the environment during the farming process.

Responding to climate change: Dace has cooperated closely with the Institutes of Science to share methods of caring for the environment, accompanying the community in responding and adapting to climate change.

Poverty alleviation: Dace is currently cooperating with more than 3,000 ethnic minority households (H’Mong, Tay, Nung) in Cao Bang.
